Of Cheesecakes...

the cheesecake showdown. at home bible study. took place last friday but am only blogging about it now, since i just got my hands on the photos of the delectable creations...

so, here's the deal: nathaniel challenged me to a cheesecake baking competition. Initially, it was a basketball AND cheesecake baking competition, but out of the goodness of his heart *cough cough* he decided to scrap the basketball part. otherwise, defeat would be imminent for me; come on, me beat him in basketball? pigs flying...

anyway, it was decided that if i lost the cheesecake competition, i would dance the macarena. and if he lost, he would sing a song of his choice. perhaps at this stage people would get the idea i was really confident of winning. hah. i wasn't.

and so, the preparations for the day ensued. me: search for cool cheesecake recipes. nat: bake 3 cheesecakes in 3 weeks and use his housemates as guinea pigs. talk about dedication. in the end, i decided to go for a half chocolate cheesecake + half traditional cheesecake combo, and nat went for a 3 layered cheesecake with raspberry on top.

the funniest thing about the judging part (majority vote by bible study members) was that they could not determine for sure whose cake was whose. by writing 'Forever Love' on my cake, it threw them off as that is nathaniel's staple msn nickname. hahaha!

and the result??? nathaniel ended up singing... (really well i might add) but the vote was 6-5 in my favour. i narrowly missed performing the macarena, by one vote!!! i salute you nat, honestly, i didn't expect such worthy competition from you.

good showdown. best part is: we all got cheesecake overload and sugar highs...
