the result of not blogging for a substantial amount of time: at a loss where to start. 3am is not a good time to start dredging up what i did in the past few weeks and describing them in minute detail, so... photos! bring it on!

nasi lemak (direct translation: fatty rice) produced @ unit G02, Unilodge! a traditional malaysian meal proudly courtesy of the four chefs...

the sambal was not as authentic as it probably could have been (only chilli paste available was thai chilli paste) though. best thing is, you can find frozen pandan leaf (or screwpine) at the oriental supermarket here!

pizza! decided to go italian and make pizza, meat pies, garlic bread and strawberry shortcake. due to the extreme amount of toppings, even the mega eaters of G02 could not polish off every piece of delectable savoury pastry... but ended up consuming it the next morning for breakfast. -_-

mexican food gala night. garlic beef enchiladas, kangaroo meat quesadillas (oh heavens, kangaroo meat is soooo not nice. totally spoiled the quesadillas which would have tasted great with chicken...), corn chips with mexican bean dip, and salad.

chinese! but not takeout... date and peanut soup (which reminded me so much of home and my popo's cooking, ahh, nostalgia!) crispy fish in sweet and sour sauce, honey ginger glazed chicken, rice wine vegetables, and anchovy crackers.

MFest: malaysian festival (26/8/07)

mfest or malaysia fest took place in the park near darling harbour in the city, in conjunction with malaysia celebrating its 50th independence day. absolutely hot and sunny when we went; very appropriate to mirror malaysian weather!

adam and i... ate satay from abang sam's which was pretty good (but considering tim and i used to get catering 5 days a week from abang sam, the notion was pretty odd at first.) everything at mfest was kind of a rip-off though; 5 bucks for roti canai and $3.50 for cendol. guess the cendol was worth it, a cool refreshing drink on a hot afternoon... yum!

south coast field trip

went for a whole day field trip to south coast to study the geology of the earth. one massive geology tutorial where you spend 7 hours in the bus traveling from each stop, and four hours doing what you came on the trip to do: gain knowledge about the rocks and geology structure of selected sites. quite enjoyed it actually. the stops at cliffs and beaches with spectacular views were great! lovely lovely scenery. you could just sit there with a nice drink, and relax forever...

as is pretty obvious... uni work has been rather challenging lately. been under pressure by assignments, never ending tests and so on. geology rock and mineral test down, computing mid-session test down, group work assignment due next week (and i so, like, hate ADORE group work and all y'know...) and materials mid session soon.


this is just a sample of how we take our exams. stare at the rock... what is it? granite! what does it have? 30-40% orthoclase (pink rock), 25-35% plagioclase (white, shiny rock), 20-30% quartz (grey/white/colourless/purplish translucent rock) and ~5% biotite (black rock which appears in sheets and is easy to flake off using your nail)! chemical classification? acidic!

phew, at least it's over now... mapping test coming up next which is apparently much harder. rightey-oh!

created a webpage for my computing assignment. i think it was quite beneficial, now at least i know more about HTML!

taking the two ways to live course at FOCUS every tuesday night as well. a real handy tool to use to share the gospel to people effectively. although this means i have my tuesdays full from 10 in the morning to around 9.30pm... but yeah, its definitely worth it.

going to melbourne to see furry, keong and lukie soon!!! whee, can't wait for the holidays, can't wait for the holidays..... mid-session break come quick!
