and so the post on tim's long awaited 18th birthday commences...
the unilodgean troop surprised him at 12a.m. 2/8/07 after a substantial amount of sneaky planning and conspiring behind his back. me: in charge of cake production (chocolate of course, considering his strong partiality to the confection), adam: in charge of beer purchasing (since he's legal and all, beer seemed fitting), and mike: in charge of distracting tim from our activities =P.
well, our planning did not go to waste, since he was completely unaware of our scheme, right up to the moment adam played the unilodge emergency warning: "emergency. evacuate now. evacuate as directed" to rouse him from his sleep, and kevin, his other house mate pounded on his door. apparently he went "what the ____" when he was rudely awakened from dreamland. HAH.
tim finally realizing what this is all about...
make a wish and blow them out! (someone asked if his birthday wish was to grow a few inches... ROFL)
of course the lovely birthday cake deserves its own personal picture... =P

L2R: pongthip, stef, birthday dude, adamon the birthday itself, it was decided there would be no mad drinking in the city to celebrate till late at night or anything, with consideration for mike who still has curfew. so, the plan: tom yam steamboat with home-made char siew pau (from scratch!!!) for dinner at unit G02. the entire process of preparing the meal and eating it stretched from 5.30p.m. to 10.00p.m.. and that's not counting the washing up part. but it was worth it!

the delicious char siew paus... all ready to be steamed! (we had more pau dough than char siew filling, so we improvised and came up with nutella pau, chocolate pau, sultana pau, and even tuna fish pau. well, we had to do SOMETHING with the remainder of the dough! haha)
