MELBOURNE

so a week after i returned from melbourne.... here are the pictures commemorating the lovely 5 day holiday! if only holidays lasted longer, sigh. stayed on the 40th floor at wen ting's posh apartment building, which is conveniently located right in the heart of the city.

woke up later than intended to catch the 5.20 am bus to the airport. ended up taking the 6 a.m. one. still made it for flight! (jetstar has a most absurd arrival airport, it looks like a zinc roofed factory building) took the bus to wen ting's area. alighted and thought: hey, we're in a suburb... how to get to wen ting's house in the city? then realized, oops, this IS the city. LOL.

our visit to the university of melbourne. the layout is nicer than unsw. more country like with pretty gardens. and its a lot more likely to get lost there than in unsw.

met up with the lost people of s2 of taylor's college (well, some of them anyway), the whole list:
steven and nick from monash; wen ting, melvin, kok keong, ming yuan, and boon hong from uni melb., and tim and i from unsw.

visited a cool portrait exhibition of famous celebrities...

yummy yum... had bbq at boon hong's oh-so-nice place to celebrate the mooncake festival. without mooncakes. -_- nevertheless, still great fun!

went up to the grampians on wednesday with people from IH. beautiful mountainous area about 3 hours drive from melbourne city. honestly thought it was a rip-off to pay so much for the trip, but didn't regret the experience.

at the lookout over the breathtaking scenery below. it was unfortunately a cloudy, drizzly kind of day. clouds covered the scenery at one point... couldn't see a thing! then the wind picked up and blew the clouds away... also blew away the feeling in my fingers and lips. frozen!

that night itself after arriving home at 10pm from grampians, and having souvlakis for dinner... we went clubbing! first time experience for me... ahh, it's alright i guess, but i wouldn't go every week! drank a vodka shot and a mooreberry or something like that... showed no alcohol effects. but tim drank a tequila shot and went tipsy. XD

visited the royal melbourne show! rides, livestock, showbags, and games that are RIGGED to rip you off. as we discovered first hand playing black jack at one of the stalls.

and finally, the shopping spree. furry took us to the factory outlets... (bought lots of stuff! whee! what can i say, i can't resist cheap branded goods)

things discovered: melbourne people walk less than sydney people (they mostly tram), they eat less than sydney people, and they drink more. okay okay, maybe it's just furry who drinks more. HAHA, kidding! the weather is crazier as well, cold hot cold hot, WINDY, cold... all in one day. -_-

all in all, had lots of fun on the melbourne trip. thanks again for having me at your place, letting me eat your food and sleep on your bed, wen ting! miss you much...
