after several eons of non-posting...

yep, i finally decided to update my dying blog. you know the mantra, busy, assignments, tests, blah blah... so enough about that. my brain is currently not functioning at full capacity, half of it is already dreaming of my soft pillow considering its been a long day *akhemz* thanks to someone =P, and its quite late now, so forgive whatever crap you happen to come across...

Today...

planned to go for a movie today with tim and adam. rushed out without breakfast 'cause tim said we should try to make it in time for the earlier show. walked and walked. turned right at High Street just like kenneth said. walked some more. tim called kenneth to clarify the location of our destination i.e. the Ritz Cinema at Randwick. walked some more. realized we walked right past it. walked back to kingsford. after an hour of walking in one big round, caught the bus to eastgarden shopping mall to watch the movie. '300' is a gory, bloody, violence-filled show with a paper-thin plot. go figure.

note: popcorn in malaysia is way better than popcorn in aussie-land.

FOCUS church camp 2007...

over the easter weekend, spent 4 days at shoalhaven for church camp which i thoroughly enjoyed. the place was absolutely beautiful, green grass, mountains, river, cows, (cows??!! haha, they added the finishing touch to the nature setting there) and at night, the multitude of stars in the night sky (which cannot be seen in kensington OR back home due to light pollution) was breathtaking. the theme: Love Is... which i thought was pretty good, the bible studies and talks were helpful, although maybe a bit difficult to digest at first. in any case, i think i learned quite a lot, and ate quite a lot too, even though the food was slightly dodgy, since the organizers insisted on asian cuisine, which obviously was not the campsite canteen's forte. all in all, an enjoyable experience, church camp 2008 anyone? and now i think i need to diet after easter holidays, sigh....

Kyle's Birthday...

In honour of kyle's 21st birthday, a gathering was organized at coogee beach. walked there from university with the FOCUS ESF gang, decided it really isn't as far as i initially thought. ate domino's pizza on the picnic table by the beach, played 'buddy buddy' (a hilarious game) and buried kyle in sand (the sand is really cold at night), finished up by eating kyle's birthday cake. zi, you really owe me photos dude.

Geoscience Australia Canberra Field Trip...

in my opinion, this field trip was a rather unsuccessful endeavor to impart more knowledge of petroleum into our poor heads. spending 4 hours to get there by bus, another 4 hours to get back, and a round total of less than 3 hours at the headquarters itself where we listened to a LECTURE for the larger portion of that time, was not my idea of a day well utilized. what's more, another 14 hours spent yesterday typing out the report on the trip. if you're wondering why it took that long, maybe it's because there was nothing much to write, because i didn't really learn much, but you have to come up with something right? Henry Salisch (my PTRL1010 lecturer) had better not ever read this... well, at least we got to see the parliament in canberra.

in other news, i cut my fringe myself. it was getting to the point where people could easily forget my left eye ever existed. so, yeah, snip snip. it doesn't look hideous, but not as nice as Raymond at A Cut Above can be credited for of course. also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALL YE BABIES OF APRIL!!! namely, Jason Chuah, Wei Lyn, Ming Yuan, Kok Keong, Tiffany Chung, Jessica Lim and Kyle. am most probably going home for winter break. if so, i will see you guys in malaysia sooner than you think!

back to tests, assignments and work tomorrow after a week's break. sigh. its 3 am. double sigh.
