baby

i miss my baby. wonder how he is doing right now. awake and mournfully waiting to come home? or peacefully asleep, knocked out due to the severe dehydration he went through? i only hope they're treating him well at the clinic all the way in brickfields.
presumably, the night staff they employ has the needed expertise to see to my champagne throughout the night, not some idiot with no medical knowledge whatsoever, like a bum they picked off the streets as night watchman for the clinic so that they get extra acclaim as a veterinary practice. in any case, my pooch is in their hands for now.
what in the world caused him to throw up repeatedly is beyond me. the possibility that he could have ingested some foreign object cannot be entirely dismissed, although very remote, as he is usually such a finicky eater. any morsel, however tempting, is rejected if slightly larger than his predetermined ideal bite-size.
but a tiny plastic object DID turn up in his vomit, which could mean the rest of that object is still inside or something. it might cost a small bomb to x-ray him using barium, and then operate to remove said object. not to mention a lot of pain for the precious.
hopefully, he improves in a day or two. him being on the iv drip to keep him from getting too dehydrated and all. a sure sign that he was dangerously close to passing out was when he did not shake at the vet's. he ALWAYS shakes and quivers until it seems his innards will come loose inside him once we even get CLOSE to the vet's. this time, he was too tired to even bother.
and his mortal enemy, a feline patient, was in the same room as him meowing its head off and he didn't blink. usually, a guttural growl would emerge from his throat before a series of excited barks whenever he hears that particular noise. and of course, him searching frantically for the cat, existent or not.
he practically fell asleep on the doctor as well as he was taking blood from his left leg (apparently the vein in his neck was almost invisible, so they had to extract blood from the leg) to run some tests. he usually frets and whimpers when people stick needles into him, but earlier he looked about to doze off. just shows how lethargic he was.
while ironing earlier, i was all alone downstairs, and the lack of his presence seemed even more obvious. i kept expecting to hear the tinkle of his bell soon, the one he wears happily around his neck. as a usual practice, he would need to keep informed as much as possible of the family members' activities, meaning he would pop in to check up on you now and then. then he would proceed to drop his sloppy blue ball at your feet asking to play fetch (a game he has never tired of for the past 5 years).
i sign out now with the message he will never read: champagne, get well soon, because we don't know what we'd do without you, fuzzball! god keep you and heal you ASAP so you can come home!
