I Miss
i miss
the smell of my home after a long day
the sound of fluffbutt barking away
the familiar yells of "time to eat wei!!!"
waking up late on a saturday
i miss
seeing marmee puttering in the garden
the aroma of my goodies baking in the oven
sampling popo's dishes before dinner
laughing, laughing at nonsense with my brothers
i miss
long chats with my marmee
outings together as a family
the touch of my piano keys
the feel of my poofball's soft fur when he's all clean and fluffy
i miss
dad's lame jokes in the car
jason's sarcastic comments and chris' reaction when kena 'zha'
the lovely home cooked food popo-style
the comfort marmee and popo give when i'm down to make me smile
i miss
the crazy celebrations at su ann's place
the mad jokes and lameness always
the times of fun when secondary school rocked
girly shopping sprees and singing chinese songs at red box
i miss
yelling "Furry!!!"
and hearing wen ting go "Whee!!!"
poking kolo in the ribs
(too bad, lukie, if i caused your bloody piss =p)
crapping with polly and listening to her say "pupu!"
a reflection of her overactive digestion system so true
sitting in pangsai's car to go hang out
only kok keong calls me 'boss' no doubt
i miss
hearing the groans from the backseat when dad says "Let's go to Ikano!"
stuffing myself at delicious buffets in hotel nikko
friday night care group, all of us together
vibrant youth service, messages by pastor
i miss
the afternoon snacks with marmee
the "where to eat?" dilemma we faced weekly
the long sessions flattening my butt in front of the tv
the daily hugs and cuddles from my family
all these things i wish to know again
missing now what i took for granted then
though i myself am free to roam
my heart longs for home sweet home
love, stef
